Attadus Inc., along with its Indian partners DIVOTE PRIVATE LIMITED, launched a first-of-a-kind aviation degree course in India at Annamalai University.

The course is being offered at Centre for Skill Department at Annamalai University in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC), a Government of India initiative under Skill India program.

Attadus Inc. and Divote Pvt. Ltd. are the industry partners for this course and will drive the course structure and process.

Peter Immanuel, CEO of AASSC, and Captain Shrinath Sundaram, President of Attadus Inc., were part of the inaugural program held in Chidambaram.

Capt. Shrinath, President of Attadus Inc. said, “We still look at Airport Operations at a very disjointed way and most of the students learn on the job. With the sector skill guidance and emphasis on a structured course, will help the nation in achieving its target for air transportation.”

According to Mr. Immanuel, the course “perfectly blends the educational and skill development ecosystem”.

The three-year Bachelor of Vocation degree course in Airport Operations has been designed as per NSQF — Qualification Packs (QPs) and National Occupation Standards (NOS) with 60% practical training and 40% general and theory sessions.

The course will help future employees develop skills to assist the customers before and after a flight. It also trains the student on how to provide support to other airport personnel including pilots and engineers and has a focus on imparting skills on safety regulation on ground and runway operations. Plus, developing skills on rescue services and communication procedures in the airport.
